Big Bazaar Tricks: How I Save 22% Extra

Do you shop at Big Bazaar? They run attractive deals and offer very good discounts. But do you know on top of those discounts you can further save on your total bill? Here I will share some tricks which I used in my recent purchase. With that, you can save up to 22% extra on your final bill amount.

I purchased a trolley

I needed a basic medium size trolley. My brand preference was Aristocrat.

The MRP is Rs. 7,200

I checked it’s price in several other stores like DMart, Total Mall, Shoppers Stop etc. I also checked in Amazon.in.

Big Bazaar offered 55% discount

Big Bazaar gave me the best deal. I got it at 55% discount on MRP of Rs. 7,200. So, it costed me Rs. 3,240 after the discount of Rs. 3,960.

But there’s more

I always find ways to maximize my savings. I already got 55% discount on MRP. But how about making some savings on the final payment? Here’s what I did.

8% Cashback on Big Bazaar Voucher

Instead of making the payment in cash or using any of my cards, I quickly purchased a Big Bazaar voucher of Rs. 3,000.

I purchased the voucher from my Paytm app as an e-gift card and got Rs. 240 cashback instantly.

So, the cost came down from Rs. 3,240 to Rs. 3,000.

14.5 Savings on American Express Rewards Card

I used American Express Rewards Card to load my Paytm wallet with Rs. 3,000. This card gives me 14.5 returns on my spends. So, I earned Rs. 435 (14.5% of Rs. 3,000) on my card.

Net Cost became Rs. 2,565

Hence, my net cost came down to Rs. 2,565 (Rs. 3,000 – Rs. 435) which is almost one-third of the MRP. This way, I saved extra Rs. 675 (Rs. 240 + Rs. 435) on top of the existing discount of Rs. 3,960.

Bottom Line

The combination of Big Bazaar voucher and the use of AMEX Rewards Card can give you extra 22% savings on your final bill amount. I could do all these in minutes from my mobile phone while heading towards the cash counter. So, try this next time when you go to shopping at Big Bazaar. And, keep saving!
